A new semester has begun. So begins my introduction to clinical and applying the nursing school. Let the odds be ever in your favor has become our new motto. This is hopefully my last semester before I start into the actual nursing program. I have so many mixed emotions. Excited. Nervous. scared. apprehensive. But I am so ready to start this two year (hopefully that's it) journey to pursing my dream job. I can not wait to start my actual clinical rotations in the hospital. While I have been pretty set on my speciality I am excited to see how I handle it and If Pediatric Oncology is the right path for me. Prayers would be appreciated as I try to stay as stress free as possible. I took on another job this semester as a director for Harding University's Spring sing show for Pi Theta Phi and Gamma Sigma Phi. I will be co directing the Choreography with my roommate. This along with classes, validations, applying to nursing school, and attempting to maintain a somewhat normal social life, should make for an interesting semester. Here's to another great semester at Harding! Go big or Go Home!

  1. Hi Kelsie, I'm just wondering how your program works?
I'm starting Nursing in the Fall and it's four years, which I assume yours is as well, but I believe I will be starting Nursing courses in my 2nd semester of my first year.
Did you have to do pre-nursing work before you go into the program?
    Thanks! :)

  2. Hi! I am in a two year program starting in the fall. I will complete my two years of pre-nursing this summer. So we are only technically in nursing school for two years to get our BS in Nursing.

  3. My school has a similar type of set up. I only have about a few years worth of classes in actual nursing classes, with about two years or pre-requisites. Hopefully by the end of next year, I will be applying into my schools nursing program. Pediatric Oncology sounds challenging yet rewarding. I've yet to decide what I want to specialize in. Have you always wanted to do pediatrics?

  4. Ill be starting my courses to apply to the nursing program at my college next year (fall semester 2014) I'm excited and nervous as well. Its exciting to start your career path, but one thing that worries me is that someones life will actually be in my hands very soon. I love learning new things and biology was always my favorite subject so learning and working with the human body should be an experience like no other!
